"Hey you guys!......" You can't escape Halloween in our house without watching The Goonies. Why? It's certainly not the scariest, nail biting, suspenseful movie on the list. It is, however, 1 of 2 movies the wife loves and a happy wife means a happy life. Besides, there's that little kid in all of us that still loves the thought of pirates, buried treasure and "booty traps." So go ahead and order your Domino's pizza and a Pepsi. Grab the Baby Ruth's and rocky road ice cream then truffle shuffle over to the bar for a Goonies Never Say Die cocktail and enjoy the movie!
As always, we don't like sweet drinks. So we altered this original cocktail slightly. For Julian's recipe, follow the proportion inside the parentheses.
Goonies Never Say Die! (Via Julian Goglia)
(1 1/2 oz) 1 1/2 oz bourbon (Buffalo Trace)
(1/2 oz) 3/4 oz fresh lime juice
(1/2 oz) 1/4 oz Falernum
(1/2 oz) 1/4 oz ginger syrup
Combine all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake until chilled and strain into a rocks glass filled with ice.
