I started these cocktail posts with 3 ingredient cocktails. I like that they're easy to make. I like not having to spend a ton of money on 3 or more bottles of different liquors (which you will probably never use again) in order to make just one cocktail. Sometimes simplicity really is the best option.
In today's cocktails we're using Hendrick's gin. Distilled in Scotland, this gin has a nice balance of juniper, cucumber and rose. This distinct gin pairs beautifully with elderflower allowing the true essence of the liquor to shine. Of course, as always, you can substitute Hendrick's for your favorite gin but it will alter the taste profile.
His Cocktail - The Lesley Gracie
1 oz Hendrick's Gin
1/4 oz St. Germain
3 oz Soda water
Cucumber for garnish
Combine all ingredients in a highball or double rocks glass filled with ice. Stir lightly to chill. Garnish.
Her Cocktail - Grapefruit & Elderflower
1 1/2 oz Hendrick's Gin
1 oz St. Germain
1 oz Fresh grapefruit juice
Grapefruit twist for garnish
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add all ingredients. Shake until chilled. Strain into a double rocks glass with a large ice cube. Garnish.
