If you've been following us over the past few months, you know what the title of todays post means. SEC football is back!! And yes, our cocktail today is for the LSU Tigers as they get ready to face off against Mississippi St. While it's not a normal season, as we're on a 10-game, conference only schedule, it's still football. And there are plenty of good match ups to come.
We want to wish Ed Orgeron, Myles Brennan (new QB and yes, part of The New Orleans Brennan's), and the rest of LSU team the best of luck today.
Now lets whip up our Purple & Gold cocktails and get ready for 10 glorious Saturdays filled with SEC football!
His Ingredients - Blackberry Bourbon Collins
6 blackberries
1 oz honey syrup
3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
2 oz bourbon (Buffalo Trace)
Seltzer water
Blackberries and lemon twist for garnish
In a cocktail shaker, muddle the first 3 ingredients. Add bourbon and ice and shake until chilled. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice. Top with a splash of seltzer and garnish with blackberries and a lemon twist.
Her Ingredients - Blackberry Gin Fizz
6 blackberries
1 oz fresh lime juice
1/2 oz simple syrup
2 oz gin (Hendricks Summer Solstice)
Club soda
Blackberries and lime twist for garnish
In a cocktail shaker, muddle the first 3 ingredients. Add gin and ice and shake until chilled. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice. Top with a splash of club soda and garnish with blackberries and a lime twist.
