We have made it to the third and final race in the Triple Crown Stakes, though there will not be a true Triple Crown winner as Rombauer blew past both Medina Spirit and Midnight Bourbon to be crowned the winner of the Preakness.
Not as revered and beloved as the Derby but certainly more sophisticated than The Preakness, today lands us in New York for The Belmont and aptly named libation, the Belmont Jewel. The wife and I both agree, that it's the lemonade that makes or breaks this cocktail.
Now if you're thinking about heading to the store to buy that frozen concoction in a can, please don't. Instead, point your car to the nearest Chick-fil-a and order yourself a tall glass of lemonade with your lunch. If it's a nice tart batch, we recommend you waltz back up to the counter and order a gallon, to go. If it's sweet, check back on another day or try another location. 
His & Hers Cocktails - Belmont Jewel
1 1/2 oz Woodford Reserve bourbon
2 oz Lemonade
1 oz Pomegranate juice
Orange zest & a twist for garnish
Combine all the ingredients, except for the garnish, in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake until chilled. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice. Garnish with lan orange twist.
