His & Hers Whiskey Sours

Continuing with our minimalist cocktail series, this week we're enjoying Whiskey Sours.  This refreshing cocktail is easy to make and is great as a pitcher drink for larger crowds....when we can entertain again.  For those picky guests, consider a Whiskey Sours bar.  Create a large batch of His or Her cocktails then set out carafes of lemon and lime juices as well as simple syrup so your guest can "doctor" up their cocktail to their taste.

Now I know some of you are asking where the egg whites are.  Yes, a lot of sour recipes call for an egg white to help thicken up the cocktail.  But, because the prices of eggs are increasing and for potential health concerns, you can omit.  If you want that viscosity then simply add 1/2 oz of eggs whites to the shaker before mixing.

His Ingredients
2 oz whiskey or rye
3/4 oz lemon juice
3/4 oz simple syrup
Orange wheels and brandied cherry for garnish

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice.  Shake, strain into a chilled rocks glass or chilled coupe.  Add garnishes.
