Machinery Log #1

You're 12 again. Just for a few minutes.

Remember sitting at the kitchen table with a bowl of cereal, and for thirty minutes the only thing that mattered was solving the maze on the back of the box?

No notifications. No inbox. Nothing waiting on you.

I wanted to make something that could do that again.

Machinery Log is part Coast Guard history, part comic book, part old magazine, part activity book — something you actually sit with instead of scroll past.

Issue #1 is a 9/11 tribute, remembering the Coast Guard response and the people we lost, alongside the ordinary stuff that brings a time back to life: TV listings, movie times, old ads, puzzles, coloring pages and cutouts.

Because that's how memory works. The important stuff sits right next to the ordinary stuff.

It's made mostly for us, the grown-ups who remember. But a lot of the people I served with are becoming grandparents now and if a coloring page gets a grandkid to ask, “What's that boat?” and gives you a reason to tell them a story, that's part of why I made it. 

It's not that the past was better.
It's that we shared it with those we love.

Issue #1 is completely free as a digital download. I have to use the checkout to track it, but zero cost!
